The results

All 130,000 samples were successfully distributed into the hands of students during the month of September, with all logistics, production and staffing managed by Crowd.

The brief

The Crowd team were briefed to distribute 130,000 Starbucks samples of its new Frappuccino flavours & the Double Shot Cans, during Freshers 2023 season. This included activity taking place pre and post Freshers to extend the reach of the campaign. 

How we delivered

The first part of the campaign saw Crowd distribute 60,000 samples of the DS cans, straight into the fridges of students ahead of them arriving at university in September. These were distributed via our key private accommodation partners in 7 cities across England and Wales. With this activity taking place pre-arrival, it served as a lovely surprise and delight welcome gift to new and returning students.


The second part of the campaign focussed on brand in hand, taking a fully branded sampling set up on tour to six key Freshers Fairs. With such high footfall and great product offering, these events created a real buzz around the activation site, and word of mouth spread!


The final part of the campaign was the Nottingham Victoria Centre Student Shopping Event. The Crowd team again took the sampling set up and distributed 10,000 samples. As expected, students loved the offering and like the freshers' fairs, the shopping event offered great footfall, in a short space of time.
