The results

The campaign was a big hit with students, with a huge amount of love for the Burger King brand. With an average of 100 winners a day, there were plenty of happy, satisfied students. Students loved the crowns in particular, which acted as walking adverts on campus.

The brief

In 2022, Burger King approached The Crowd Agency to support its launch into the student market. With a new student deal that was worth shouting about, a tantalising product range for students and a great functional app, we wanted to create a freshers’ tour that drove results and delivered a great experience for students.

How we delivered

The Crowd team initially selected four university freshers’ fairs at which to activate. This involved running a mapping exercise where we identified locations that would target multiple Burger King restaurants.


The team then devised an interactive ‘Where’s the Whopper?’ game, where students downloaded the Burger King app for the opportunity to select a custom-made playing card to see if it had Burger King’s signature product on the other side.


We also distributed thousands of branded keep cups as well as the iconic Burger King crowns.
